Colorado Movie Theater Shooting

Below are statements that are coming in about the Colorodo Movie Theater Shooting
(More will be added as they come in.)

STATEMENT FROM BOROUGH PRESIDENT DIAZ

“I, along with all 1.4 million residents of the Bronx, would like to extend our most heartfelt condolences to the victims of last night’s deadly movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado.  It is absolutely shocking that someone would look to hurt hard working individuals who wanted to do nothing more than relax and watch a movie with friends and family.
“I and the residents of the Bronx will keep the victims of this devastating event, as well as the entire state of Colorado, in our prayers,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

Mayor Bloomberg has stepped up security by stationing NYC police officers at theaters where the Dark Night movie is being shown in New York City. Bloomberg has also called for stricter gun laws, and for both presidential candidates to make gun control a major issue in the presidential election.

From 87th A.D. Assembly candidate Luis Sepulveda
“Whether it occurs on the streets of the Bronx, or in a crowded movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, the scourge of violence perpetrated by guns is an egregious affront to a civilized society. In solidarity with the victims and their families of last night’s mass shooting, I extend my heartfelt condolences. Hopefully, we can take something away from this, so that the untimely deaths of these people will not be in vain.”

As more statements come in we will add them to these. feel free to add your comment.
