This morning, Congressman Ritchie Torres announced his support for tenants’ rights attorney and advocate, Shaun Abreu, in the race for New York City Council, District 7.

"It is an honor to receive the support of Congressman Ritchie Torres in this race for New York City Council, District 7. Congressman Torres is a fierce advocate for tenants, students, and workers and has always fought for bold policies to improve their lives. As someone who went from public housing to becoming the first gay Afro-Latino man elected to the U.S. Congress, Congressman Torres knows what it is like to beat the odds. He embodies the strength, resilience, and tenacity of communities across our city – and I know he will be a champion for our recovery. As a Council Member, I look forward to working with Congressman Torres on protections for essential workers, a Green New Deal, and pro-tenant policies. I can only hope to fill his shoes as a member of the City Council," said Shaun Abreu, candidate for New York City Council, District 7.

“I am proud to endorse Shaun Abreu in this race because the New York City Council serves as the first line of defense for our communities, and now, more than ever, we need someone who is going to fight relentlessly for working families and deliver results. Whether it’s fighting for tenants to have their heat restored, advocating for his clients against unscrupulous landlords as a housing attorney, or using his platform to push for stronger enforcement of our anti-discrimination laws, Shaun is deeply passionate about these issues because he’s lived them. I look forward to working with Shaun to ensure that every New Yorker has the ability not only to survive, but to thrive in our great city,” said Congressman Ritchie Torres (NY-15).”

Mayor de Blasio visits mass COVID-19 Vaccination Site at 4006 Third Avenue, But Where Were the People to Vaccinated?

This COVID-19 site at 4006 Third Avenue has done blood tests for COVID-19 Anti-bodies in 2020, of which I had one done. Today it was the site of the Bronx Mass Vaccination site, but very few people showed up. Mayor de Blasio was to show up at 3 PM to tour the site with reporters, and I was told only invited reporters would be allowed in, so seeing only three people get vaccinated in thirty minutes I decided to cover another story instead.

Above - is the sign letting people know that the COVID-19 vaccine can be gotten at this site on Third Avenue.

Below - These people wanted a COVID-19 test, but were told this site no longer does that, They were told to go to another nearby site for the COVID-19 test, because only vaccinations were being done at this site on Third Avenue.
