Mayor Adams Comes to Bronx NeON to Announce Two Appointments

 

On Monday Mayor Eric Adam came to the Bronx Neighborhood Opportunity Network (NeON) to announce the reappointment of Ana M. Bermudez Esq. as the commissioner of the Department of Probation, and the appointment of Denna Logan Esq. as the director of the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ). The Department of Probation runs NeON, and NeON is located on the ground floor of the building where the office of the Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark is located at 168 East 161st. Street. It is a program for youth to attend various programs who are on probation who may be at risk. 

Mayor Adams said "I want to end gun violence, and we can give them cameras so they won't want guns". There are seven NeON centers in the five boroughs, and Mayor Adams said that he would like to open more especially a second office in the Bronx. He is partnering with Bronx Borough President Vanesa Gibson, and Bronx DA Darcel Clark in that venture. Mayor Adam spoke of the Credible Messenger program, to help people who get out of jail, who are on probation, stay out of jail. 

The Bronx NeON office opened in 2011 when Bronx Borough President Gibson was Assemblywoman Gibson, and Bronx DA Clark was Judge Clark. Both appointees thanked Mayor Adams for his trust in them, And thanked their teams for their good work.
