How to File Taxes for FREE with Direct File

The new Direct File tool from the IRS allows people with simple tax returns to electronically file federal tax returns for free directly through the IRS. Direct File is a pilot program available to New Yorkers and taxpayers in 11 other states. Last week, our office hosted a webinar with the IRS to show you how to use the new tool. Watch the webinar for a step-by- step tutorial on how to use Direct File. File for free at directfile.irs.gov by April 15th. Direct File is available in both English and Spanish.
