This Tuesday, June 23 the World Cup comes to the South Bronx. In partnership with the NYC Department of Transportation will be hosting a watch party for the England vs Ghana game at Lou Gehrig Plaza!
England is coming off a 4-2 victory against Croatia and can take sole possession of first place in their group with another win. Ghana is coming off a 1-0 victory over Panama with their lone goal scored in extra time. Ghana can also secure sole possession of first place in the group if they win. This is has been a fun and interesting World Cup so far meaning anything can happen.
This will be a free event in the plaza. Below are additional details:
What: Match Day Soccer Streets Watch Party - England vs Ghana
Who: The 161st Street BID, NYC Department of Transportation, City of New York, Mobile Stage Network
Where: Lou Gehrig Plaza on 161st Street between the Grand Concourse and Walton Avenue, 3pm
What else: Green Canvas Productions will be onsite doing free professional shots for those interested and additional programming will be provided by Hive Public Space with a live performance from Batingua Dance at 3pm.
