Governor Kathy Hochul announced that Solstice Advanced Materials US, Inc. is expanding in Buffalo. Solstice, a global leader in high-performance specialty materials, will construct, renovate and equip its Peabody Street research and development facility to enhance and expand the company’s R&D capabilities in advanced materials and chemical processes. The $49 million investment will establish the Buffalo site as Solstice’s premier global R&D hub, reinforcing Western New York’s role at the cutting edge of advanced chemical manufacturing. The project will create 12 new jobs, building on the company’s existing 180-person Buffalo workforce.
“New York continues to be a magnet for the industries of tomorrow, and Solstice’s decision to anchor its premier R&D facility right here in Buffalo proves that our economic strategy is working,” Governor Hochul said. “This $49 million investment will create good-paying jobs, foster cutting-edge research and keep New York at the forefront of the green technology revolution.”
