Wave Hill Weekly Events (Sep 17 – Sep 24) | Ease into a New Season: Garden Delights, Wellness, & More!

 

A softer air with promises of honeyed leaves, sweeps down the palisades, across the Hudson, and lingers a little longer in the gardens. Our warmer summer days perform an encore for all to enjoy and ease us into new beginnings. From our garden guardians to friendly neighbors, treasure these last bits of the season at Wave Hill with familiar faces at our Gardeners’ Party, Yoga Classes, Afternoon Tea and Kids on the Move!

Meet and mingle with Wave Hill's gardeners, our John Nally interns, and other distinguished colleagues in the horticulture community for an evening celebration of the art of gardening!



Nature & Wellness



Yoga in the Garden


Advanced registration encouraged.


Root your feet in the grass and look out upon the vistas as you enjoy a gentle yoga class led by Susie Caramanica. All levels are welcome.



Garden Highlights Walk

Join a knowledgeable Wave Hill Garden Guide for a leisurely stroll in the gardens. Topics vary by season and the expertise of the Guide; each walk varies with the Guide leading it.



Art



Public Gallery Tour


Free with admission to the grounds


Registration not required. 
Solo and group exhibitions at Glyndor Gallery explore the dynamic relationships between nature, culture, and site. Visitors can expect an in-depth look at artworks on view in Glyndor Gallery and in the Sunroom Project Space, showcasing the work of both emerging and established artists in the unique context of a public garden. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Family Art Project: Sun Turning

The autumn equinox is the start of fall and a rare moment when day and night are in perfect balance. Let’s learn about the sun’s movements in our sky and make sundials discover a simple way of telling time. At 11:30am families can enjoy a storytime program in the Gund Theater 


Kids on the Move! Equilibrium for the Equinox

Find balance in breath, movement and garden exploration during this month's Kids on the Move. Participants will find early signs of autumn, reminders of summer, and a chance to explore their balance on the beautiful Wave Hill grounds. 



Special Events



Afternoon Tea 


7-day Advanced Registration required.


Enjoy delicious tea sandwiches and delectable pastries with a specialty tea selection every Tuesday and Thursday with seatings at 11AM or 2PM. Served on the Kate French Terrace or in our quaint Tea Room at historic Wave Hill House, Afternoon Teas are provided by our exclusive partner Great Performances whose menu uses local and seasonal ingredients, inspired from their own organic farm, Katchkie Farm.

 

HOURS STARTING MARCH 15: 10AM–4:30PM, Tuesday–Sunday  
Shuttle Service free from Subway and Metro-North, Saturday–Sunday
