WYSK The City of New York is Burning, by Former Councilman Ruben Diaz Sr.

While New York City Burns The Mayor Goes Jet skiing!

You should know, that during the tumultuous decade of the 60s, the City of New York endured more than 500 murders committed annually and we saw, day after day as many of its buildings were set on fire.

Back then, a celebrity sportscaster named Howard Cossel, said "The Bronx is Burning, The Bronx is burning!" Today I wish to take from those words and say that with the increase in crime, New York City is burning!

The murders, assaults, robberies, and overall rising crimes rates we can honestly say that this city is rapidly moving towards the devastation we experienced in the decade of the 60s.

You Should Know that in ALL areas covered by police precincts of our city, crime is out of control. In just (5) five days from Friday, July 1 to Tuesday, July 5, there have been 44 shootings in the city. Sixty (60) people have been wounded by gun fire, (9) died and were (DOA) Dead On Arrival. During this short period of time there were (13) homicides and more than (25) shots fired in different areas of police precincts throughout the city. According to news reports the areas affected during these first 1. 1.

1. Precinct #1 = One wounded by bullets

2. Precinct #5 = One wounded by bullets and one stabbed

3. Precinct #6 = One Stabbed to Dead (DOA)

4. Precinct #7 = PSA/4 = 2 injured with gunshots

5. Precinct #14 = One stabbed and 2 wounded by gunshots

6. Precinct #23 = One wounded by gunshots

7. Precinct # 28 = Two wounded by gunshots

8. Precinct #30 = One shot, one fatally stabbed (DOA)

9. Precinct # 33 = One injured having been stabbed

10. Precinct #40 = Three injured by gunshots, one fatally (DOA)

11. Precinct # 42/PSA7= Two wounded by gunshots

12. Precinct # 43/PSA8= Two Wounded by gunshots

13. Precinct # 44 = Two wounded by gunshots, one fatally (DOA)

14. Precinct # 48 = 4 wounded by gunshots, one fatally (DOA

15. Precinct # 49 = One wounded by gunshots

16. Precinct # 50 = An Off-Duty Sergeant wounded by gunshots

17. Precinct # 52 = One wounded by gunshots five (5) days of July 2022 are as follows.

18. Precinct # 71 = Two wounded by gunshots

19. Precinct #73 = One Fatally Stabbed (DOA)

20. Precinct #75/PSA2 = Eight fatally wounded by gunshots one fatally (DOA)

21. Precinct # 81 = One wounded by gunshots

22. Precinct # 83 = One wounded by gunshots

23. Precinct # 84/PSA 3 = One wounded by gunshots

24. Precinct 88 = One wounded by gunshots

25. Precinct 101 = One wounded by gunshots

26. Precinct 102 = 4 wounded by gunshots, one fatally (DOA)

27. Precinct 107 = One wounded by gunshots

28. Precinct 110 = One stabbed fatally (DOA)

29. Precinct 113 = Four wounded by gunshots

Let me remind you my dear reader all these crimes happened just during the first (5) five days of the month of July.

As our city burns and crime increases, our mayor seems more concerned about transvestites and transgenders having the right to teach our children in public schools and more interested in taking Jet Ski lessons to enjoy the hot days of summer on the beach while the greatest city burns.

I am Rev. Ruben Diaz, and this is What You Should Know.
