Let's give all our people a chance to run for elected office, there has to be someone better than the current governor, and someone is going to have to take over after me. The city Council members are going to have to be fair and honest next year.

In 2017 13th City Council candidate Marjorie Velazquez Lynch challenged the other two Hispanic candidates in her city council race. It was found out in court that the person who did the challenging for Marjorie Velazquez Lynch was a college student from Ohio who went back to Ohio, and the one candidate who filed the court document was pot back on the ballot and she lost.

In 2021 it appears that 13th City Council candidate Marjorie Velazquez Lynch has challenged all three other Hispanic candidates, two females and the only male Hispanic who is a veteran of the armed forces, while being a single father, as well as the only Black Female candidate in her city council race. We will have to find out if Ms. Enilda Cancel (the challenger of the four other candidates) who has a previous address in Florida will not be moving back there as was the case four years ago, when the challenger of the two male Hispanic candidates moved back to Ohio after placing her challenges for candidate Marjorie Velazquez Lynch. Also why Ms. Cancel did not challenge Marjorie Velazquez Lynch and if she is indeed connected to candidate Marjorie Velazquez Lynch.

New York Man Sentenced to 33 Months in Prison for Participating in Multimillion-Dollar Credit and Gift Card Fraud Scheme

 A New York man was sentenced today to 33 months in prison for participating in a scheme to buy and sell over $2 million in stolen property, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.

James Olla, 29, of Brooklyn, New York, previously pleaded guilty by videoconference before U.S. District Judge John Michael Vazquez to a superseding indictment charging him with conspiracy to sell, receive or possess stolen goods. Judge Vazquez sentenced Olla today by videoconference.

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:

From January 2014 through June 2015, Olla and others procured stolen information related to credit cards belonging to various individuals, including victims living in New Jersey. Using this stolen information, Olla and his conspirators obtained gift cards from various retailers and then sold the cards on the streets of Brooklyn and elsewhere, often for large sums of cash. In total, Olla’s scheme resulted in losses to financial institutions of $2,041,977.

In addition to the prison term, Judge Vazquez sentenced Olla to three years of supervised release, ordered him to forfeit certain property, and pay restitution of $689,124.

Acting U.S. Attorney Honig credited special agents of FBI, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge George M. Crouch Jr. in Newark; the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, under the direction of Acting Inspector in Charge Rodney M. Hopkins in Newark; and the U.S. Secret Service, under the direction of  Special Agent in Charge Mark McKevitt, with the investigation leading to today’s sentencing.

The government is represented by Cybercrime Unit Chief David W. Feder and Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua L. Haber of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Criminal Division in Newark.

 Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today updated New Yorkers on the state's progress during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"COVID continues to rear its ugly head across New York State, and while hospitalization and vaccination metrics continue to trend in the right direction, this pandemic isn't done with us yet," Governor Cuomo said. "The vaccine is here and New York State is working 24/7 and pulling out all the stops to get shots in arms, including expanding eligibility and establishing new vaccination sites. But in the meantime, washing hands, wearing masks and socially distancing are critical behaviors that can help us slow the spread as we continue to fight the COVID beast."

It is important to note that data, including test results and hospital rates, reported early in the week are often not completely reflective of the current situation due to lower discharges and testing volume over the weekend. Data trends over a period of time, such as using 7-day averages, are a preferred metric.

More than 1 Million Doses Administered Over Past Seven Days

 Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today updated New Yorkers on the state's vaccination program. 194,837 doses have been administered across the state's vast distribution network in the last 24 hours, and more than 1 million doses have been administered over the past seven days. The week 15 allocation of 1,565,080 first and second doses is expected to finish arriving today.

"Our providers across the state are continuing to work day and night to get shots into people's arms, with our State-run and FEMA-assisted mass vaccination sites now on the brink of delivering 2 million total doses," Governor Cuomo said. "This momentous undertaking is far from over, and we are continuing to work with local leaders to make sure the vaccine distribution is equitable and our vaccination sites are accessible. As New Yorkers we've overcome every challenge COVID brought before us, and now that we are beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel, we need to remain strong, united and determined - and not let our guard down." 

New York's vast distribution network and large population of eligible individuals still far exceed the supply coming from the federal government. Due to limited supply, New Yorkers are encouraged to remain patient and are advised not to show up at vaccination sites without an appointment.

The 'Am I Eligible' screening tool has been updated for individuals with comorbidities and underlying conditions with new appointments released on a rolling basis over the next weeks. New Yorkers can use the following to show they are eligible:

• Doctor's letter, or
• Medical information evidencing comorbidity, or
• Signed certification      

Vaccination program numbers below are for doses distributed and delivered to New York for the state's vaccination program, and do not include those reserved for the federal government's Long Term Care Facility program. A breakdown of the data based on numbers reported to New York State as of 11 AM today is as follows.

NYC MAYORAL CANDIDATE SARA TIRSCHWELL MEETS WITH MEMBERS OF ASIAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY TO PROVIDE FREE PROTECTION

 

On Tuesday evening, New York City Mayoral Candidate Sara Tirschwell met with members of the Asian-American community to announce free security protection in Sunset Park’s Chinatown neighborhood in Brooklyn. From City Council Candidate Yu Lin's campaign headquarters, Tirschwell met with Frances Wong, Director of the Asian Health Institute of New York Methodist Hospital, Scott Soifer of Quality Protection Patrol Services, Ray Chen of Bay Shine Real Estate Corp., and Raymond Wang, CEO of Rintercom and President of Tai Shan Du Hu Association. Those in attendance discussed the ongoing need for allies and support during this time of heightened concern within the Asian American community.  "The fact that within hours of hearing of the devastating hate crime targeting members of the Asian community in several Atlanta massage spas, Sara put a plan in action to protect the members of her own community who also feel threatened and targeted shows just how committed Sara is to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all New Yorkers. I am glad the Albany finally legalized Marijuana, and it needs to be done correctly. Do I think those Knuckleheads in Albany can do it right, just look at State Senator Gustavo Rivera, and others in Albany. They can't do anything about the governor. If it was me I would have been gone as mayor by the second woman not still in office after eight.

There is the nursing home death scandal, eight women accusing him of conduct unbecoming any elected official, the politics of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution, and now the special treatment of the Cuomo family and friends in getting vaccinated. How much more is it going to take for the assembly and state senate to get rid of this man. The governor should have a spotless record like I have.

Cuomo today announced more than 8.5 million total COVID vaccine doses have been administered across New York. 219,554 doses have been administered across the state's vast distribution network in the last 24 hours, and more than 1 million doses have been administered over the past seven days. The week 15 allocation from the federal government is in the process of being delivered to providers. 

"As we fortify our capacity, we are reaching new milestones more and more frequently. This is a testament to the dedication of our providers across the state, and to our ongoing efforts to reach every eligible New Yorker and bring the vaccine to every community," Governor Cuomo said. "We must also remember that in spite of our remarkable progress, we cannot afford to slow down. There are still millions of people who need to be vaccinated, and we will continue to work with local leaders to make sure the distribution is equitable and that no community is left behind."
