Thursday night at the Eastwood Manor was the annual meeting of the Bronx Democratic County Committee. The meeting went with out any problems, but just a few minor name changes. There were plenty of empty seats as one Assembly Districts was represented by only an equivalent of a hockey team on the ice. Some elected officials came and went quickly, while others stayed for the entire meeting. Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz was re-elected as County Committee Chairman, and the only surprise came with the election of possible Council District 11 candidate Andrew Cohen as one of the many Vice-Chairs of the party in the Bronx. Cohen said it was nothing, but it could solidify his getting county's endorsement for G. Oliver Koppell's soon to be vacant City Council seat. Before we forget Assemblyman Carl Heastie was re-elected Bronx Democratic County Leader.
After the County Committee meeting the Judicial convention was held to nominate two candidates for the Democratic line for Supreme Court. Ms. Donna Mills and Mr. Fernando Tapia were the unanimous choices of the delegates on hand. See photos below for more.
