The large gathering of School Safety Officers, and 52nd Police Precinct officers and detectives that converged on MS 80 shortly after dismissal meant there had to be something wrong at the school. It appears that at least two students got into some kind of altercation, and one student wound up being stabbed. The student who was stabbed was rushed to a nearby hospital, either North Central or Montefiore as police did not disclose which hospital the student was taken to.
In this photo you can see that there are surveillance cameras on the school corner, but it appears that the stabbing took place beyond the camera, but police want to look at the video to see if anyone is seen with the student who was stabbed before the incident.
This is the area where the stabbing occurred on the Mosholu Parkway Island opposite MS 80 at Van Cortlandt Avenue. Police are looking for any clues as to a struggle, and for the weapon that may have been used.
Above and Below - This officer is concentrating and looking to see if the weapon that may have been used either fell or may have been thrown down through the sewer grating.

The person went to St Barnabas. You have the principal right in your picture. You should double check some of your facts
The ambulance had just left as I arrived on the scene. With North Central and Montefiore Hospitals only two blocks away any thought of the student being sent to St. Barnabas Hospital was out of the question. The police also would not give any details. As for the Principal being in a photo, I went to the officers of the 52nd Police Precinct who were handling the situation that happened off of school grounds.
I know that there were no missing students in the school so it cant be a student stabbed from there
It happened after school, maybe it was not serious, but there was a student taken away in an ambulance while the police confirmed a stabbing as they were looking for a weapon in two of the photos.
