Today, State Senator Gustavo Rivera introduced a resolution recognizing the month of June as Immigrant Heritage Month in New York State. For the fourth consecutive year, Senator Rivera's resolution serves to highlight, acknowledge and celebrate the countless contributions immigrant communities have made and continue to make to New York State.
"For centuries, New York State has stood firmly as a beacon of hope for those who leave their hometowns in search of a brighter future for themselves and their families. Despite the harmful and malicious policies deliberately designed by the current administration in Washington to tear our communities apart, New York State will not waver in its commitment to support our immigrant communities. We will continue fighting ferociously to implement comprehensive and compassionate policies that will protect our immigrant communities and will help them grow and thrive. I would like to thank my colleagues in the New York State Senate for adopting the resolution and joining me in celebrating our heritage as a State of immigrants."
