WEEK IN REVIEW 

BUDGET OVERSIGHT HEARING AT THE

NY CITY COUNCIL

 

 In the New York City Council, I held a budget oversight hearing to ensure the NYC Department of City Planning has the appropriate staffing to:

-carry out our ambitious housing targets
-is properly engaging with communities as we collaboratively approve projects, and 
-has the necessary funding to carry out these initiatives

This year alone, the Council passed the landmark ‘City for All’ text amendment, which will create over 80k units of housing over the next 15 years. 

 

As City Planning plays a critically vital role in creating much-needed housing in NYC, I thank Chair Dan Garodnick, for the thoughtful conversation we had.

 from the employment health and resource fair at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln with The Consul General of the Dominican Republic, the honorable Jesús Vásquez Martínez, and the President of Lincoln Hospital Cristina Contreras

 to all the organizations who came together to provide a platform for Bronxites to connect with companies committed to fostering growth and employment opportunities within our community

HANGING OUT WITH BRONX ADOLESCENTS IN BRONXWORKS’ CORNERSTONE PROGRAM

 

 BronxWorks for letting me hang out with Bronx young adults in the Cornerstone Program for a game of EA SPORTS MADDEN NFL and NBA 2K

While I may have ended the night with a 1-1 record, it was a joy to spend time with our young adults and discuss how we can work together to build back our borough
