Sunset Wednesdays 2025
Wave Hill’s annual summer tradition is back, bringing five exciting performances Wednesday evenings to our Great Lawn! Pack a picnic and bring your favorite blanket or chair for an unforgettable summer evening as the sun sets over the Hudson. Delectable food and drinks also available for purchase. Premium admission is in effect from 4PM to 8PM each Sunset Wednesday.
Wild at Night: Evening Nature Encounters
After the sun sets, Wave Hill belongs to the creatures of the night. Bats, fireflies, katydids, and more emerge from their daytime slumber to animate the grounds far from human eyes and ears. The Garden is open late for all visitors until 8PM. Exclusive evening programs for ages 12 and older welcome with an adult.

Reptiles and amphibians are among the most misunderstood species of the animal world, and many of them live right here in the Bronx! Environmental educators from Tenafly Nature Center explore the differences between these fascinating critters with live animal ambassadors in this fun and engaging nature program for adults and older kids.
Tree Folklore Walk

The history of the trees in our landscapes tells a story of ornamental value. Examine the history of Wave Hill trees in a guided talk and tour with naturalist Levi O'Brien. Honor their wisdom through discussing the importance of trees in our landscapes, as well as the major roles people have played in preserving, protecting, and celebrating our green spaces.

Public Gallery Tour
Visitors can expect an in-depth look at artworks on view in Glyndor Gallery and in the Sunroom Project Space, showcasing the work of both emerging and established artists in the unique context of a public garden between nature, culture and site.
Meet the Artists: Trees we breathe
Gain insight on the artwork featured at Wave Hill as curators introduce the exhibition and the themes that tie the pieces and artists together. Then, join a walk-through with exhibiting artists who will speak to their creative practices, processes, and works on view in the exhibition.

At Wave Hill, the gardens are cared for by our amazing gardeners. Use your imagination to come up with your very own garden guardian and bring your dream to life in a sculptural form.

Concert: Majel Connery: Elderflora
Narrated from the perspective of the tree itself, composer and vocalist Majel Connery presents Elderflora, an oratorio on the life and death of a tree. Created by Connery and performed with guitarist Matthew Walsh, Elderflora invites the audience on a musical journey experiencing the inside of its mind, thoughts, and feelings in hyperreal detail.
Sunset Wednesdays: Fabiola Méndez
Puerto Rican singer, educator, and Emmy-nominated composer, Fabiola Méndez, sheds her artistic vison on Borikén culture and her identity. Méndez's mission is to share and celebrate the cuatro, folk music through her performances. Fabiola Méndez brings collective storytelling to places like NPR Tiny Desk, Fred Rogers Productions, and Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, and now, to Wave Hill!
