132 Days and Counting - Hey Bill Why Do Your Top Doctors Tell Me I Am Immune to the Virus?

Mayor Bill de Blasio your Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Chokshi told me that I was immune to the COVID Virus. Dr. Katz your head of HHC told me I am Immune to the virus. I went last Friday to an NYC vaccination bus that was on Allerton Avenue (in the Bronx), and was told by the technician that I do not need the vaccination because I am immune to the virus. Why would two of your top doctors and a technician at one of your Vaccination sites tell me I am immune to the COVID virus if I wasn't.

I caught the COVID virus the first week of March on a subway (before they were being cleaned) coming home from one of your press conferences. My bare hand was on the metal pole, a man was coughing to my right, and a woman was sneezing to my left. Two days later I started to get symptoms of the virus, but didn't know I had it until day three when I had ten of the indicators. Day six I woke up in a pool of sweat, and all ten indicators were gone, I was back to being healthy again. My antibody count was high, and remains high eighteen months later.

How many more people are there in the city like me who are now immune to the virus, that you are trying to force to get vaccinated. I was told that if I do get vaccinated, the vaccine would kill my good antibodies, and replace them with others that would die off and I would continue to need booster shots as we see happening now.

We found out former Governor Cuomo was lying about the death rate, what else was the public being lied to about. Come clean Mayor de Blasio, it is people's lives you are playing around with. What is really going on with the COVID virus?

Long Island Chiropractor Settles Federal Fraud Allegations

Gary Stein Resolves Claims for Billing the Department of Labor’s Office of Worker’s Compensation Programs for Purported Treatment That He Did Not Provide

Gary Stein, a licensed chiropractor in Levittown, New York, has paid the United States $290,197.24 to resolve civil allegations that he submitted false claims to the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP) for services that he did not provide to a federal employee receiving Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA) program benefits.

Jacquelyn M. Kasulis, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Matthew Modafferi, Special Agent-in-Charge, U.S. Postal Service, Office of the Inspector General (USPS-OIG), Jonathan Mellone, Special Agent-in-Charge, U.S. Department of Labor Office of Inspector General, New York Region (DOL-OIG), and Christopher Godfrey, Director, OWCP, announced the settlement.

“In billing for medical services he didn’t provide to his patient, the defendant defrauded a taxpayer-funded program designed to assist federal employees who are disabled by on-the-job injuries,” stated Acting U.S. Attorney Kasulis.  “This Office and its law enforcement partners are committed to protecting taxpayer-funded programs from fraud and abuse.”

“The Special Agents of the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General will vigorously investigate those who commit frauds against federal benefit programs and the U.S. Postal Service,” stated USPS-OIG Special Agent-in-Charge Modafferi.  “I’d like to thank the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Office of Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Labor for their continued support in our agency’s mission.”

“Investigating health care fraud offenses against U.S. Department of Labor programs is an important mission of the Office of Inspector General. We will continue to work diligently with our law enforcement partners to hold accountable those who seek to defraud DOL programs and siphon taxpayer funds for personal gain,” stated DOL-OIG Special Agent-in-Charge Mellone.

“This settlement allows OWCP to recover $290,197.24 in medical bill payments under the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act and return those funds to the U.S. Postal Service,” stated OWCP Director Godfrey.  “The Department of Labor’s Office of Inspector General, as well as various other agencies’ offices of inspector general, devote significant investigative resources to detecting cases of possible abuse within the FECA program, and this settlement demonstrates the commitment of the DOL and its OIG in helping to ensure that funds issued through the program are paid appropriately.”

Certain federal employees who become disabled due to occupational injuries sustained during the performance of their official duties qualify for OWCP benefits.  When health care providers bill OWCP for services rendered to FECA beneficiaries, they use Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes that specify what services have been provided.  In doing so, they signify that the services were performed as described and properly billed in accordance with accepted industry standards.  Applicable industry standards preclude billing for an extended medical appointment when a FECA beneficiary actually received only a routine service.

An investigation by the DOL-OIG and USPS-OIG revealed that, from March 6, 2014 through April 14, 2019, Stein routinely used CPT codes which falsely indicated to OWCP that he had conducted detailed examinations of the patient when in fact he had not done so. The settlement resolves potential claims that Stein’s alleged conduct violated the False Claims Act. The claims resolved by the settlement are allegations only.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW By Councilman Rev. Ruben Diaz 18 District, Bronx

 Hispanic Community: By Passed Again

You should know that upon appointing Senator Brian Benjamin, as our next lieutenant governor for the State of New York, African Americans are practically shaping up to hold all relevant positions of power in the State of New York.

African Americans will have control of the following positions: Lieutenant Governor, Senate Majority Leader, Assembly Majority Leader, and State Attorney General.  This means that now the full control of the budget for the entire State of New York is under the control of African Americans. EducationHealth, Housing, Rents, Transportation, etc, etc.  Everything will be under their control.  Therefore, people of color can no longer blame the Republicans, nor the White people, or their "White Privilege” or blame our future woes on racism and discrimination.

Additionally in New York City, African Americans will hold the positions of mayor, Ombudsman, Majority Leader of the City Council, Presidents of the boroughs of the Bronx, Queens, and many other positions in the City Council, Congressional seats, State Senators, State Assembly, Attorney Generals of different boroughs, and the Chairmanships of the Democratic Party in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Wow that’s power.

I imagine that next year, the Hispanic community will be remembered again when needed for the 2022 elections. The Hispanics come to mind when the Democrats need to maintain power and keep it out of the reach of Republicans. I have seen this movie before!

But now, we Hispanics being the majority, and possessing many well qualified men and women who could have been appointed to lieutenant governor while making history as the first person of Hispanic origin to occupy said position, again backs are turned, and the Hispanics are by passed once again. Then there is talk of discrimination and white privilege.  Oh, please give me a break. To another fool with that tale.

Rumor has it that among one of the reasons Governor Hochul appointed Senator Brian Benjamin, lieutenant governor, in addition to his qualifications, and he is well qualified, we congratulate him on his appointment, was because he is African American.  It is believed in political circles that this would energize Gov. Hochul’s possible primary run against A.G. Letitia James or Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, both African Americans.

Gov. Hochul overlooked naming a Hispanic person, which demonstrates that she like many before her, take the Hispanic vote for granted. She may feel that the Hispanic vote is a sure thing, and she has us in her pocket.  We will have to wait and see until next year. I can however guarantee you that in the Hispanic community there is a lot of resentment.

I am Councilman Rev. Ruben Diaz and this is what you should know.

SENATOR RIVERA ON GOVERNOR HOCHUL'S ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF 12,000 ADDITIONAL COVID-19 DEATHS IN NYS

GOVERNMENT HEADER

"In her inaugural address, Governor Kathy Hochul promised New Yorkers transparency in an effort to regain the trust New Yorkers have lost in the office of the Governor. While I am deeply grateful that she is keeping her promise, it is devastating to learn from her administration that the previous one grossly misrepresented the total number of COVID-19 deaths across New York State with nearly 12,000 additional deaths needing to be added to this terrible tally.

I once again offer my condolences to the families who lost loved ones to this deadly virus. I hope that affected families can find some solace in learning how their loved ones passed away and that this revelation can help them process their heart-wrenching loss.

It is critical for the sake of our State that the Assembly move forward with the impeachment process and send the Senate articles promptly. We must hold the former Governor and his top aides accountable for the suffering that their inexcusable actions caused thousands of New York families."

EDITOR'S NOTE:
As Chair of the State Senate Health Committee, we can not understand why Senator Rivera did not know of this misrepresentation of COVID-19 deaths in New York State. We hope that Senator Rivera is more effective under Governor Hochul.

Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams statement on the newly reported COVID-19 deaths in NY

Today, Governor Hochul's administration confirmed that there was a significant undercount in COVID-19 deaths. Alongside state legislators and advocates, I have spoken out and questioned Cuomo’s initial report for months and we learned that 12,000 deaths were unaccounted for by his administration. That's 12,000 lives tragically cut short and thousands of families left without closure for over a year after the passing of their loved ones.

This news is deeply unsettling and I thank Governor Hochul for being transparent. Disclosing these figures was a step in the right direction towards a more accountable government.

My condolences go out to the families of the 12,000 victims. While these results cannot undo the negligence committed by the previous administration, I hope it brings some sense of peace.

COVID-19 is still a threat to us all. As the Delta variant spreads, we must proceed with caution, re-evaluate our current rules, and continue to incentivize folks to get the vaccine. We’ve come so far, but we cannot stop the fight against this pandemic.

Peace and Blessings,
Jumaane D. Williams
