The Bronx’s own double Grammy Award-winner Samara Joy returns to Wave Hill August 2 for our last summer concert of the summer. We're hoping for good weather; Shine Only tickets are still available for picnicking on our lawn and enjoying the Gen Z, jazz-singing sensation. For a very different performance experience, join us in Wave Hill House for a movement- and sound-based performance by Zachary Fabri, one of the exhibiting artists in This Place We Once Remembered, up in Glyndor Gallery till August 6.
Focus on friends with fins, especially those popular goldfish swimming in Wave Hill’s Aquatic Garden. Turn colorful paper bags into fantastic 3-D fish that can swim through the air and flutter home with you. On Sunday, stop by the Aquatic Garden to learn more about freshwater habitats. The program takes place indoors in the Kerlin Learning Center located on the lower level of Wave Hill House.
Exhibitions at Glyndor Gallery explore the dynamic relationship between nature, culture and site. When exhibitions are open, Gallery Greeters lead public gallery tours on Thursdays and Saturdays. Visitors can expect an in-depth look at artworks on view in Glyndor Gallery and in the Sunroom Project Space, showcasing the work of both emerging and established artists in a unique environment. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Root your feet in the grass and look out upon the vistas as you enjoy a gentle yoga class led by Lisa Lindstrom. All levels welcome. Rain cancels. Continues through July.
Cinema of Volant Petals is a new movement- and sound-based performance by Zachary Fabri commissioned by Wave Hill as part of the exhibition This Place We Once Remembered. A collaboration with a pianist, cameraman and cinematographer, the performance weaves together historical record, fiction and personal memory using flowers as a libretto. Responding to the architecture of Armor Hall, the work is at once a live performance and deconstructed film set. Flowers serve as narrative and symbolic devices that speak to our entangled relationship to the human and natural worlds and to the liberatory possibilities of flight.
Come “eye to eye” with some of the creatures and plants that call the Aquatic Garden home. Learn what our resident goldfish love to eat and who else they share their home with.

This concert will take place on the Great Lawn. Visitors may bring folding chairs and blankets. Picnicking is permitted. The Café and Shop are open until 7PM.
In the event of poor weather, this performance will move indoors with limited seating capacity. Ticketholders must have purchased a “Rain or Shine” ticket to be granted admission indoors. Ticketholders will be notified by email if the concert moves indoors and "Shine only" tickets will be refunded.
