Hosted by New York Road Runners. Perfect for both new and experienced runners, this fun three-event series is a great way for kids to stay active, build confidence, and experience the thrill of cross country!
Super Seedlings
Saturdays, October 11, 17, 24 - 10am to 12pm
Super Seedlings is a FREE, drop-in gardening program for kids ages 2-7 and their caregivers. Each session will have a fun seasonal theme to explore, crafts, plants to water, soil to dig into, and more!

REIMAGINING: Fall Get-Together
Saturday, October 17 - 1pm to 4pm
The event will begin with a moving live performance by musician Juan Usera and The Sambuco Tribe, setting the tone and making space for remembrance and renewal. Following the music, Bronx-based artist Tijay Mohammed will lead an interactive chalk art project aptly named “Message to my Ancestors,” transforming the pathway into a vibrant canvas that honors history and sparks imagination for the future.

Tuesday, October 6 at 2pm - Meets in Riverdale Stables parking lot
Take a slow walk in the park and learn about local flora and fauna with naturalist Debbi Dolan. Debbi has a wealth of knowledge about nature, plants, and wildlife that she enjoys sharing.
Youth Run Farmstand
Wednesdays through October 28 - 2pm to 7pm
Stop by the Youth Run Farmstand, featuring fresh, local produce at affordable prices, healthy recipes, and a chance to chat with our awesome interns.
NEW! Caribeando at the Farmstand
Caribeando features live music highlighting traditional Caribbean rhythms and dances including bomba, plena, guaracha, and changüí led by master percussionist Juan Usera, an Afro-Puerto Rican artist. Join in to receive a $2 Health Buck to use at the farmstand!

Paper Making with Michelle Brody
Saturday, October 17 - 1pm to 4pm
Transform weeds into art! Using fibers sourced from nonnative and invasive plants such as abaca (a relative of the banana plant) and kozo (paper mulberry), sculpt handmade paper with artist Michele Brody. The resulting sculptures—impressions of tree trunks and roots—will be incorporated into the artist’s multi-media installation, to be shown at the Kingsbridge Historical Society at the end of the year. This workshop is for ages 15 and up.
