Hon. Mayor Zohran K. Mamdani City Hall New York, NY 10007 January 27, 2026 Re: Snow Removal in South Queens Dear Mayor Mamdani, I am writing to request immediate and prioritized intervention in my Assembly District following the recent snow storm, which has left many areas of South Queens unsafe and inaccessible. My office has received a high volume of constituent complaints regarding unplowed streets, blocked sidewalks, and hazardous intersections that continue to impede mobility and pose serious public safety risks. Seniors, people with disabilities, families, and essential workers are being disproportionately affected by these conditions. I have received stories of parents and children slipping and falling on their way to school, commuters standing in the road waiting for buses, and pedestrians climbing mountains of snow to cross the street. The following locations require urgent attention from the Department of Sanitation and the Department of Transportation: Q55 Bus stops at Myrtle Avenue and Seneca Avenue Q55 stops at Forest Avenue and Myrtle Avenue Myrtle Av/71 Pl bus stop Q53/Q52SBS bus stop on Crossbay Blvd/107 Avenue and Woodhaven Blvd /91 Avenue Q112 bus stops on route to East New York 96 Street and 86 Road intersections Bus stops at Woodhaven Blvd and Myrtle Avenue Bus stop on either side of Woodhaven Blvd and Forest Park Drive Q88 Bus stop at Queens Center Mall Q40 on 142 Street and Linden Q86 149 AV/242 ST bus stop 111 St/86 Av bus stop Bus stops along Woodhaven Blvd and Crossbay Blvd. 111 St/101 Av bus stop Lefferts Blvd/101 Ave Bus stop Jamaica Van Wyck subway station at the Jamaica Ave entrance Cypress Hills Street from Myrtle Avenue to Jamaica Avenue Park Lane South from 76 Street to 79 Street Crosswalks at 85th Road and 88th Street Underpass on 65 Street between Shaler Ave and Otto Road Crosswalks along Myrtle Avenue Myrtle Avenue and Cooper Avenue Sidewalks and crosswalks at Onderdonk and Palmetto under M train Sidewalk along "Uncle" Vito F. Prompt action is essential to ensure safe access for residents and emergency services and to prevent further harm. South Queens deserves the same level of responsiveness and care as any other part of our city. I appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to your swift action on behalf ofour shared constituents. Very truly yours,
