I am aware of dangerous and unacceptable walking conditions across South Queens due to insufficient snow removal at key locations—including the path to PS 62, the school bus stop on Cross Bay Boulevard, and multiple MTA bus stops.
I am actively coordinating with the Department of Sanitation and community partners to address these conditions and clear safe, walkable paths as quickly as possible. Ensuring that students can get to school safely, commuters can access transit, and residents can move through their neighborhood without risk is an immediate priority.
If you are experiencing a snow removal issue in your area, please contact my office right away. Call or text 347-585-0327 or email grossj@nyassembly.gov. Reports from residents help us target problem areas and respond faster.
We are taking action so that South Queens is safe and accessible for everyone.

Re: Snow Removal in South Queens
Dear Mayor Mamdani,
I am writing to request immediate and prioritized intervention in my Assembly District following the recent snow storm, which has left many areas of South Queens unsafe and inaccessible.
My office has received a high volume of constituent complaints regarding unplowed streets, blocked sidewalks, and hazardous intersections that continue to impede mobility and pose serious public safety risks. Seniors, people with disabilities, families, and essential workers are being disproportionately affected by these conditions. I have received stories of parents and children slipping and falling on their way to school, commuters standing in the road waiting for buses, and pedestrians climbing mountains of snow to cross the street.
The following locations require urgent attention from the Department of Sanitation and the Department of Transportation:

Given the ongoing risks to pedestrian and vehicular safety, I strongly urge your agencies to immediately deploy additional resources to address snow removal and roadway treatment in the areas identified above. Prompt action is essential to ensure safe access for residents and emergency services and to prevent further harm.
South Queens deserves the same level of responsiveness and care as any other part of our city. I appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to your swift action on behalf ofour shared constituents.
Very truly yours,
Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar Assembly District 38
