Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 622 East 223rd Street in Wakefield, The Bronx. Located near the intersection of Carpenter Avenue and East 223rd Street, the lot is near the 225th Street subway station, served by the 2 and 5 trains. Gjeto Prelaj is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 40-foot-tall development will yield 6,554 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have ten residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 655 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a penthouse and a 30-foot-long rear yard.
John Backos of Grid Drafting and Consulting LLC is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed in October 2025 for the two-story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
