Nos Quedamos - Thank you for making the difference!

 

Dear Friends, We close this year with incredible news and heartfelt gratitude! During our 30th Anniversary celebration, Nos Quedamos worked to lay the groundwork for the future of self-determination in Melrose Commons. We harnessed the power and cohesion of our community to ensure that our outreach and advocacy efforts have the ongoing financial support to develop true community-led resilience and climate justice for Melrose residents and families. Together, we are equipping the next generation of youth leaders with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to achieve equity for systemically disenfranchised environmental justice communities like ours. Our community responded with tremendous support! We reached and surpassed our $8,000 fundraising goal. Moreover, the climate-focused nonprofit Institute for Sustainable Communities is matching all donations 2:1, for a total of over $24,000! On August 11th, 2023, we held a fundraising brunch that raised $13,000. This event was the first of a series of events we are hosting to strengthen our relationships with long-time friends and supporters. Our goal is to close our 30th year anniversary with a huge celebration in August 2024, so stay tuned for more information. We hope to see you there. We are blessed with our community’s enduring trust, and continue to join together with local residents and business owners to resist displacement.
