The Bronx Chamber of Commerce Observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day

“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others? - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr The Bronx Chamber of Commerce office will be closed on Monday, January 15th to observe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day. We will reopen Tuesday, January 16th with our normal business hours.

Governor Kathy Hochul's  2024 State of the State Address

This week, Governor Kathy Hochul delivered the 2024 State of the State Address and released her “Our New York, Our Future” agenda. The State of the State includes 204 bold initiatives to make New York more affordable, more livable and safer. “The State of New York is stronger, healthier, safer and more affordable than it was two years ago when I became Governor, but there is more work to do,” Governor Hochul said. “Every proposal announced today serves to improve our state and ensure our communities are not just surviving, but that they are thriving. Bally's Officially Takes Over Former Trump Links at Ferry Point Golf Course

The Bronx Chamber of Commerce alone with local elected officials, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and the chairman of Bally's Corporation, Soo Kim, unveiled the new "BALLY LINKS" sign at the Ferry Point golf course formerly operated the Trump Organization Thursday. The Trump Organization was the golf course's longtime operator, with its giant "TRUMP LINKS" logo visible from the Whitestone Bridge nearby. The sign unveiling took place Thursday January 11th, 2024. Not only marking the change in operators but also the beginning of a new era for the Bronx.

Bronx Children's Museum Celebrates Their One Year Anniversary

Congratulations to the Bronx Children's Museum on their one-year anniversary. This was a time for adults to come and embrace their inter-child.  The Museum's mission is the belief that every child deserves an opportunity to thrive, learn, and create. The Bronx Shows Up and Shows Out for the Five Borough MWBE Recognition Awards

On Wednesday, January 10th, The Bronx Chamber of Commerce attended The "Five Borough MWBE Recognition Awards" that were held in Manhattan. This event celebrates the diversity and achievements of the city's Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise. This event is a collaborative effort among the five Chambers of Commerce in the city, each representing one of the five boroughs, to acknowledge and recognize the contributions of MWBE members in their respective communities. Public Input Sessions for Future East Bronx Metro-North Stations

The plan to open four new East Bronx Metro-North stations in 2027 is chugging along, but there’s still time for the public to weigh in on the specifics. On Wednesday, Jan. 10, the Department of City Planning updated New Yorkers on the project's latest iteration, which was developed with input from a series of previous public meetings and surveys from 2018 through 2023. City Of YES Public Hearing

On Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, Department of City Planning (DCP) Director Dan Garodnick announced that the agency will host a virtual online information session to answer frequently asked questions about the City of Yes for Economic Opportunity proposal to be held on Tuesday, January 9 at 11:00 am via Zoom, the event will offer a venue for community leaders to ask DCP questions that have been raised during the public review of the proposal.  On January 24, the City Planning Commission (CPC) will hold a public hearing, followed by a vote in the spring; if the CPC votes to approve the initiative, the City Council will hold a hearing and vote to approve, modify, or disapprove the proposal. Fiscal Year 2025 Discretionary Funding Applications Released The applications for discretionary funding are now available. The FY2025 application was posted on the Council’s website on Thursday, January 4, 2024, and the submission deadline will be on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. NYC Funds Finder NYC's Department of Small Business Services (SBS) and Next Street announced the launch of a new platform  connecting small businesses with trusted resources they need to open, grow, and maintain their business. The program seeks to create opportunities for businesses owned and operated by minority individuals and women, ensuring they have fair access to government contracts and economic opportunities, opens your business up to increased opportunities from New York City agencies, free advertising in the NYC Online Directory of Certified Businesses, mentorship programs and workshops, networking events, and more.
