Bronx Jewish Center Purim 2024 Celebration

Purim is a Jewish holiday which commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman, an official of the Achaemenid Empire who was planning to have all of Persia‘s Jewish subjects killed, as recounted in the Book of EstherPurim is celebrated annually on the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar, the day following the victory of the Jews over their enemies.

Joining Rabbi Pezner to celebrate Purim 2024 were Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato, and well over one hundred people. This year Rabbi Pewzner brought The Live Fire Show with Romeo  the Odd to entertain the children and adults. People came dressed in costumes with masks, heard the reading of the Megillah, enjoyed a delicious Purim meal complete with assorted varieties of Hamantaschen a tasty fruit filled large cookie.

Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson praised Rabbi Saddia Pewzner for the fine work he is doing at the Bronx Jewish Center.

Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato introduced herself as the new City Councilwoman who wants to work with the Jewish community and shares many of their views.

Romeo  the Odd holds a firestick with only his teeth.

Romeo the Odd breathes in the fire as he puts out the fire on that stick.

Romeo the Odd called up two children who helped him with this trick of one child knowing what the other was thinking.

Romeo the Odd would put a scissor all the way up his nose to cut a nose hair, but here he has broken glass laid out that he walks on.

As if walking on broken glass wasn't enough, Romeo the Odd takes handfuls of the broken glass to rub on his face.
