This Friday at 6:30pm, join us at the Bronx River Art Center for the newest installment of our Artist Talk & Presentation series IN CONVERSATION. The program welcomes the artists featured in BRAC's current exhibition Ingenuity: Art & Entrepreneurship of the Bronx. The talk will be moderated by Jordan Horton, who also serves as the gallery show's curator.
In this roundtable discussion, all of the show's artists — Stephanie Ayala, Michael Paul Britto, Jose Tutiven, Jomar “MSVDA” Velez, Edgar Santana, and Lisa DuBois — will come together and discuss how they use their photography to channel the heartbeat of their cityscapes to illuminate Bronx and New York iconography with depth and familiarity. Through their lens, they redefine the ordinary, revealing the remarkable magnificence of everyday scenes. Ingenuity becomes a testament to the Bronx's dynamic essence and cultural significance, vividly portraying its strength and vitality through the prism of artistic expression.
