City Hall Also Flying Pride, Philly Pride, and Transgender Flags on Portico
New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that City Hall and other municipal buildings will be lit in rainbow colors tomorrow to honor the start of Pride Month. Additionally, City Hall will fly the Pride flag, the Philly Pride flag, and the Transgender flag on the portico throughout the month of June to show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community in New York and across the country.
“New York City shines with pride as the birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ movement,” said Mayor Adams. “As our nation celebrates the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, we remember and reaffirm our city’s responsibility to remain a safe haven for all. While localities across the nation and governments around the world continue their hateful attacks and rhetoric, we will always advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, here and beyond. This Pride Month, we will let every member of our LGBTQ+ community know: We are here for you and our administration will always have your back.”
In addition to City Hall, the following city buildings will be lit up in rainbow colors to recognize Pride Month at sundown tomorrow:
- Bronx County Courthouse: 851 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10451
- Brooklyn Borough Hall: 209 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
- The David N. Dinkins Manhattan Municipal Building:1 Centre Street, New York, NY 10007
- New York City Department of Sanitation Spring Street Salt Shed: 336 Spring Street, New York, NY 10013
