In this workshop, a child and accompanying adult will create a fairy terrarium garden with a live plant to take home. All materials will be provided.
Flower Printing Workshop
Monday, July 22nd - 10-12 pm
Learn the art of flower pounding!
Flower pounding is the arranging and hammering of freshly picked plants onto paper or cloth so their natural pigments are released to create beautiful organic patterns. Each participant will receive watercolor paper and a tea towel to create their own botanical prints. All materials will be provided.
Floral Wreath Workshop
Monday, July 29th - 10-12pm
Celebrate summer’s beautiful blooms by creating your very own floral wreath!
In this workshop, participants will take a short hike in the Van Cortlandt Park forest and harvest vines to use as the base of our wreaths. Back at the Garden & Compost Site, vines will be twisted into a round shape, ready to be adorned. Wreath decorations will include a mix of natural and artificial materials including seasonal flowers!
All materials will be provided.
