Dear Friends/Neighbors,

This past week was yet another productive one as we completed various tasks while consistently delivering tangible results for District 13! Our dedication to our community is unwavering, and we are actively working to visit all of the schools within D13, and continuing to allocate funding for the community.

In this newsletter, you will discover information about the district events that occurred last week, along with details on upcoming activities planned for the community.

It is an honor to represent you in the New York City Council.

Sincerely,

Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato

Interview w/ BronxNet: First Year Recap!πŸŽ™️

On Thursday, Councilwoman Marmorato appeared on the BronxNet show for an interview. The discussion highlighted a summary of her first year in office and the achievements that have benefited the district. We are thrilled to have reintroduced numerous resources and solutions back to the district where they truly belong.

We have successfully addressed over a thousand constituent cases and secured millions in funding for our local groups and organizations – and this is only the beginning!

Councilmember Marmorato, alongside local representatives, has successfully secured funding for AFC Rapids Soccer to acquire a defibrillator.

A huge thank you to Assemblymember Michael Benedetto and Senator Nathalia Fernandez for their collaboration on this vital initiative! This funding will greatly enhance the safety of our players, spectators, and everyone attending the games.

A Day Downtown: City Council Committees!

On January 22, Councilwoman Marmorato participated in two critical hearings. At the Committee on Mental Health, Disabilities, and Addiction, she joined her colleagues in a vote to provide more mental health services to our students and children of NYC.

She also attended the Committee on Veterans hearing, where discussions focused on strengthening the Veterans Advisory Board and exploring ways to expand services and increase engagement among NYC veterans. Supporting those who served remains a top priority for the Councilwoman.

January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. πŸ’™

This month is dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking and methods to inform and safeguard ourselves and others from this crime. We can all work towards learning the signs of Human trafficking and share valuable information and resources to victims. It is a reminder for everyone to stay vigilant and attentive.
