Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato

Dear Neighbors,

This week, we continued our commitment to supporting our community businesses, visiting a local school community, and giving out more Hot Meals. It is always a joy to engage with our amazing community and ensure we keep providing valuable events that meet the needs of our constituents.

In this newsletter, you will find details about the district events that took place this week, along with information on various upcoming events we have planned.

It is an honor to represent you in the New York City Council and continue fighting to keep our community safe, healthy, and prosperous!

Hot Meals at Edgewater!

Last Wednesday, we were out in Edgewater handing out hot meals and spending time with the community. It was a great chance to connect with neighbors, share some conversations, and offer support.

We’re always grateful for opportunities like this to be present and stay connected with the people we serve.

Throggs Neck Houses Resident Association Meeting

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of joining the Throggs Neck Houses Resident Association meeting, and it was a fantastic opportunity for meaningful conversations and community connection.

We always value the chance to catch up with NYCHA residents, listen to your concerns, and hear what’s important to you.

Thank you to everyone who came out and shared your thoughts—we look forward to continuing the dialogue and working together to support and strengthen our neighborhoods.

Visit at Monsignor Scanlan High School!

Last Friday morning, Councilwoman Marmorato had the honor of visiting the outstanding Monsignor Scanlan High School — and we were truly impressed!

From their advanced STEM program to their perfect 100% graduation rate, it’s clear they’re setting students up for success in college and beyond.

A big thank you to the amazing faculty, staff, and students who make this school a true asset to our community and put students first every day!

Small Business Spotlight!

Last Friday, Councilwoman Marmorato and her team had the pleasure of stopping by Orrico’s for a delicious lunch and to show support for this beloved local business.

From the mouthwatering sandwiches to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, it’s easy to see why Orrico’s is such a favorite in the neighborhood.

We’re always proud to highlight small businesses like this that bring so much flavor and heart to our community. Thank you to the amazing staff for your hospitality and for all that you do! 🥪🌟

Free Spay & Neuter Service

This past Saturday, we proudly partnered with The Toby Project and Animal Care Centers (ACC) to offer free spay and neuter services to residents in our community.

Providing access to essential pet care helps promote responsible pet ownership and supports the well-being of animals across our district.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success—from the dedicated veterinary teams to the volunteers and community members who showed up to support.

Together, we're making a real difference for our furry friends! 🐶🐱

Throggs Neck Houses Carnival!

What an amazing Saturday at the Throggs Neck Houses Carnival! 🎡

Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato was proud to sponsor and partner with the Throggs Neck Tenant Association to bring a day full of fun, laughter, and community spirit.

From bouncy houses and carnival games to popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, and refreshing drinks—there was something for everyone to enjoy. The best part? Seeing hundreds of families smiling and making memories together. 🍿🌭

We also distributed over 300 bags of fresh produce, helping ensure our neighbors have access to healthy food.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the day such a huge success.

Fun, family, and fresh food—that’s what community is all about! 🍎🥕

Happy Mother's Day!

Wishing everyone a joyful and heartfelt Mother’s Day!

This past Sunday, our team came together to celebrate all the amazing moms in our lives — including our very own Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato, a proud and devoted mother whose strength, care, and dedication inspire her work every day on behalf of our community.

To the incredible mothers on our team, and to all those who nurture, lead, support, and love — thank you. Whether you're celebrating, remembering, or simply taking a moment today, we honor and appreciate you.

Mother's Day Brunch!❤️

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting an unforgettable Mother’s Day Brunch—and it was truly a beautiful success!

We were excited to see such a great turnout at St. Frances de Chantal as we celebrated the incredible mothers of our community. From heartfelt moments and laughter to delicious food and even better company, it was a morning overflowing with love and gratitude.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us to make the event so special. And to all the wonderful moms in District 13, we celebrate you every day! 🌺

Visit at St. Benedict's!

We had a truly wonderful visit with the seniors at St. Benedict's!

It was an honor to provide hot meals to these incredible individuals, but even more rewarding was the time spent with them. We had the chance to connect, share stories, and enjoy some great conversations, which is always a highlight.

Our seniors are such an important part of our community, and they hold a special place in our hearts. We are committed to continuing to bring them the support, care, and activities they deserve, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated every day.

Visiting Victory House

Yesterday, we had the honor of visiting Victory House at The Children’s Village, a remarkable supportive home for girls and young women.

The strength and resilience of the women at Victory House is truly inspiring, and the life-changing services they receive play a crucial role in empowering them to build brighter futures.

We are so proud to support programs like this that not only provide a safe haven but also uplift and restore dignity. It’s an incredible privilege to be part of such meaningful work that makes a lasting difference in the lives of these young women.
