Dear Neighbor,
Starting tomorrow, we are expecting a wave of extreme heat in the Bronx and across New York City. Below are some tips to keep you and your loved ones safe.
- Remember to stay hydrated. Drink lots of water throughout the day.
- Seek AC at Cooling Centers. Click HERE for a list of cooling centers near you.
- Limit your exposure to the sun as much as possible.
- Check your eligibility for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). Click HERE for more information.
- Check in on family, friends, and neighbors — especially our most vulnerable New Yorkers, including seniors, young children, and those with chronic health conditions.
Not only can extreme heat be uncomfortable, but it can also be dangerous, especially for our most vulnerable residents. Understand your risk and make a plan. Click HERE for more information on how you can keep yourself and your loved ones safe this summer.
