Wave Hill Weekly Events (Apr 9 – Apr 16) | Springing into the Season: Arts, Wellness, & More!


Electric pools of blue are in full swing at the garden with glory-of-the-snow gracing our grounds. Stop by and admire them up close before they fade. This is only the appetizer of spring with many more treats to come. Follow your nose to our fragrant magnolias, cherry, blossoms, and paper bush as the season takes off!

Welcome migratory birds back to Wave Hill this spring! Explore the gardens with naturalist Gabriel Willow to look for resident and rare birds as they pass through on their northern journey or settle down for the season. 

Garden Highlights Walk

Join a knowledgeable Wave Hill Garden Guide for a leisurely stroll in the gardens. Topics vary by season and the expertise of the Guide; each walk varies with the Guide leading it.

Art

Winter Workspace Open Studios

During this Open Studios event, meet the artists participating in Session Two of the Winter Workspace and see what they've been working on over the last six weeks. Visitors can learn about the artists' practice, sources, and materials. Explore each artist studio, see new and in-process work inspired by Wave Hill and created on site, and meet other art-lovers.   

Atom Moore: Second Nature

Still life and product photographer Atom Moore has built a career in macro photography, taking extreme close-ups of small subjects to capture the minute details that are typically missed by the unaided eye. Through this project of closely observing the garden with his camera, discover how Moore captures evidence of nature’s deep design and constant transformation.

Family Art Project: Turtle Friends

As turtles wake up from their winter rest, let’s learn about their fascinating lives. Discover why turtle shells have such diverse shapes, sizes, and patterns. Then, craft your own shell backpack.   

Kids on the Move! Spring Awakening

Wander the grounds with guest educator Corinne Flax to find early signs of spring as you stretch and move through the gardens. Connect with nature and feel the world waking around you, then wake up your own body with yoga-based poses and games.
