If you think Brush fires do not occur in the Bronx you can tell by the photos above, there was a moderate brush fire which took yesterday in the northern section of Van Cortlandt Park just below the Yonkers city border. A dozen fire engines responded from all over the north Bronx, and five ambulances stood ready if any of the firemen became overcome by the smoky brush fire. There has been very little rain this month leaving places like Van Cortlandt Park vulnerable to brush fires.
