Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson - Community Resources & Updates

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for joining us for another week in review.

Last week, we announced the relaunch of our highly anticipated Tour de Bronx 2022! After a short hiatus, the tristate area’s most beloved cycling event is back to celebrate its 28th year. Thank you to our partners at the Bronx Tourism Council, Montefiore Einstein, Transportation Alternatives, Essen Health Care, and many others for their support and commitment to bring Tour de Bronx back. This year the event will be open to 1,000 riders for a 25-mile course through historic districts, beautiful waterfronts, and lush greenways throughout the Bronx. To join us, register here.

We also hosted our Italian Heritage Month Celebration at the Bronx Zoo. It was great to celebrate our Italian American community that has contributed so much to the life and vibrancy of our Borough. Thank you to the Bronx Zoo and Mike’s Deli for partnering with our office to make this special evening possible.

In collaboration with District Attorney Clark, we hosted the 5th Annual 5K Run, Walk, Roll to End Domestic Violence. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Domestic and Gender-Based Violence is a complex social problem that deeply affects our Bronx community, especially our Black and Hispanic residents. We are committed to fighting this epidemic, empowering survivors and holding offenders accountable.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 718-590-3500 or email us at webmail@bronxbp.nyc.gov.

In partnership,

Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson

IN THE COMMUNITY

Since its inception, Tour de Bronx has attracted cyclists from all around New York City and the tristate area and this year promises to be one for the books.

Thank you to our sponsors, The Bronx Tourism Council, Montefiore Einstein, Essen Health Care, Village Care, Transportation Alternatives, the New York Botanical Garden and so many others for helping us bring Tour De Bronx back to our beloved Borough.

🇮🇹I was happy to join friends, neighbors and colleagues to host our Italian-Heritage Celebration! Thank you to the Bronx Zoo for hosting us.

🇮🇹This year’s honorees exemplify what it means to lead with grace and give back to your community.

🇮🇹Our Italian-American neighbors have contributed so much to the life and vibrancy of our Borough, City and Nation.

🇮🇹Thank you for all you do!

Grateful to have joined DOE Chancellor David Banks, my colleagues in government and the PS 16X team to speak about Project Open Arms.

Project Open Arms is a comprehensive plan intended to support families seeking asylum and ensure children are provided a full range of wraparound services during this challenging transition.

Thank you to the NYC DOE and to PS 16X for their support of our migrant families during this time.
