State Comptroller DiNapoli was joined by Hon. Crystal Hudson, NYC Council Member and Co-Chair, NYC Council of LGBTQ+ Caucus, Karissa O’Reilly, Library Media Specialist, Carmel H.S., Carmel, NY and Nick Higgins, Chief Librarian of the Brooklyn Public Library, to discuss banned books, efforts to make sure that young people have access to these books and various initiatives underway designed to make New York State a safer and better place to live for LGBTQ+ people and us all.

State Needs to Better Protect Water Supply Infrastructure Against Natural Disasters, Cyberattacks and Terrorism

New York’s Health Department and Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services can do more to protect the State’s water systems from attacks and the threats posed by natural disasters like storms, according to an audit released by State Comptroller DiNapoli.
