Teen Project Studio + 2.0
Spring Semester runs until June 25th
Summer Semester starts July 8th
Our Teen Project Studio + 2.0 program for the Spring 2024 semester is currently underway. Taught by Michele Brody, the theme of both this cycle and the upcoming Summer 2024 session, is "Trashion". The class explores how today's artists are tackling environmental justice in their practices. Students will use a variety of media, including natural fiber and found materials, to address fashion for the body and home. Activities include sun prints, paper making, and natural dye printing on natural fabrics, among other techniques. The program also includes field trips to eco-artist studios and natural urban spaces like the High Line, and will culminate in a fashion show runway at the “West Farms Rapids” Amphitheater with the Bronx River as its backdrop.
TPS +2.0 is an intensive, interdisciplinary project-based art and technology program that trains youth and young adults ages 14-25 to explore environmental and social concerns through creative and civic engagements. The program is a unique opportunity to experience and learn about visual arts & the creative industry in an interactive and challenging way. It promotes collaboration, team building and critical thinking while inspiring participants to seek career opportunities in the creative and environmental industries including, but not limited to fashion or graphic design, and architecture. Registration for the Summer 2024 session is now open; classes will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 to 5pm starting July 8th.
