BRONX MAN INDICTED FOR KILLING GIRLFRIEND AND PUTTING HER BODY IN SUITCASE

Defendant Allegedly Discarded Victim’s Body on Side of a Yonkers Parkway

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced that a Bronx man has been indicted for second-degree Murder and additional charges for killing his girlfriend, putting her in a suitcase, and leaving her body on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers.

District Attorney Clark said “The defendant allegedly murdered his girlfriend and then lied to police, saying she left their home on her own. Her body was found days later in a suitcase along a parkway. His alleged actions are atrocious and terrifying, and we will seek justice for the victim.”

District Attorney Clark said Junior Perez Diaz, 46, of 2200 Morris Avenue was indicted on second-degree Murder, first-degree Manslaughter, and first and second-degree Kidnapping. He was arraigned today before Bronx Supreme Court Justice Audrey Stone. Remand was continued. He is due back in court on April 16, 2025.

According to the investigation, on March 2, 2025, Pamela Alcantara, 27, was reported missing after she didn’t appear at church services. After being questioned about her whereabouts, the defendant allegedly told friends and family that Alcantara left their home, and he did not know where she was. The defendant told investigators that Alcantara left their home wearing pajamas and with a suitcase. Surveillance video from the Morris Avenue building showed the victim allegedly entering the apartment on March 1, 2025, around midnight and the defendant entering approximately two hours later. The defendant allegedly later left the apartment, with a red suitcase, which he carried to his car. The victim’s body was found on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway on March 6, 2025 inside the suitcase, with signs of homicidal asphyxiation.

District Attorney Clark thanked NYPD Detective Jeovany Geronimo of the 46th Precinct and NYPD Detective Anthony Caltabiano from Bronx Homicide for their work in the investigation.

An indictment is an accusatory instrument and not proof of a defendant’s guilt.
