Councilwoman Marmorato's Life Saving Bill
BREAKING: Councilwoman Marmorato’s Life-Saving Legislation Featured in the NY Post
The New York Post is shining a spotlight on Councilwoman Kristy Marmorato’s groundbreaking bill to require anti-choking devices in every NYC school — and it’s gaining bipartisan support.
As both a healthcare professional and a mother, Kristy knows firsthand how quickly choking emergencies can turn tragic. Her daughter once had a close call, and after losing her grandfather when the Heimlich maneuver failed, this issue became deeply personal.
Her proposed legislation would mandate that all schools have access to simple, suction-based airway clearance devices — giving staff another critical tool to save lives.
Public Hearing Details:
Date: Wednesday, June 18
Time: 1:00 PM
Location: NYC City Hall or join virtually
Sign up to testify (in-person or via Zoom): council.nyc.gov/testify
→ Select Education (Joint with Civil and Human Rights)
→ Choose June 18
