Arboreal Giants: The Hunt for New York's Oldest Trees
Hear about photographer and archivist, Brian Kelley’s, adventures searching out these venerable giants in farms, woodlands and suburban landscapes as you view their portraits. Kelley founded the Gathering Growth Foundation in 2019, an organization dedicated to the visual preservation of some of the oldest and largest trees in the United States. Since 2021, Kelley has focused his efforts on locating and documenting the most significant trees across New York State.

Experience the many colors of Wave Hill’s seasonal landscape through sketching and painting. Then, transform your scenic art into a scroll that can be unfurled whenever you wish. At 11:30am families can enjoy a storytime program in the Gund Theater, all ages welcome.

Don't leaf yourself out of this amazing class! Explore the Wave Hill grounds with museum educator Corinne Flax, finding leaves of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Learn about the complex process of photosynthesis and spread your leaves and grow in a leaf-inspired family yoga class.

Beeswax Candle-Making
Stop by Mark Twain Room to craft your own autumn-themed rolled candle using fragrant sheets of beeswax. Decorate with colorful wax leaves to take home and enjoy! Space is limited, and you may be asked to wait if all workspaces are full.
Fall Terrace Party
Take in the glorious views of the garden and Palisades at their colorful fall peak after hours and celebrate the fall season with us on the Kate French Terrace. Enjoy music by Andrew Craig and Adam Hart and cider, along with other autumnal drinks and treats available for purchase from The Café.
