WEATHER ADVISORY

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for New York City and the Tri-State area. We are expecting snow, heavy at times, and dangerous ice in our area for much of Sunday and lingering into early Monday. Preliminary forecasts show 8-12 inches of snow can be expected for much of the tri-state area this Sunday.


In anticipation of the challenging weather conditions, our office will be closed on Monday, January 26 but we will available for those seeking assistance by phone at (718)-933-2034.

This week, Senator Rivera joined his community at the Riverdale Y to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy.


As part of the Riverdale Y’s Rise Against Hunger initiative, Senator Rivera alongside many volunteers helped pack meals to support the neediest in the community.


During these incredibly challenging times, Senator Rivera would like to remind all that like Dr. King, we need to help our communities with meaningful acts of service whether big or small, as well as to stand firmly and boldly to challenge the injustices facing us.

SENATOR RIVERA JOINS BRONX SENATE DELEGATION AT ANNUAL BUDGET FORUM

This week, Senator Rivera and the Bronx Senate delegation held their annual Virtual Budget Forum where Bronx residents learned more about the proposed 2026-2027 State Budget and were able to provide their input. Senator Rivera shared some of his legislative priorities for the year including the New York Health Act (S.3425), and his bill to tax capital gains (S.1439). Senator Rivera will continue to listen to the voices of his constituents to ensure that their concerns are heard in Albany, striving to reach a fair and balanced budget.

This week, Senator Rivera joined 1199 SEIU home care delegates for a meeting to discuss union priorities.


In this meeting, which focused on the current challenges facing the home care industry, Senator Rivera spoke about his Home Care Savings and Reinvestment Act (S2332A), which will would stop the state from wasting billions of dollars on private insurance companies that act as ineffective middlemen between long term care providers and patients who need care.  


Thank you to the 1199 SEIU leadership for the invitation and opportunity to be a part of the conversation.

This week, Senator Rivera met with members of the New York #insulin4all Coalition where they discussed Senator Rivera's "New York Affordable Drug Manufacturing Act" (S.1618), which would intended to reduce drug costs for individuals with public or private coverage.

SENATOR RIVERA JOINS ADVOCATES TO CHAMPION HIS HOMECARE SAVINGS AND REINVESTMENT ACT

This week, Senator Rivera joined the Caring Majority and other allies to support their 'Care Not Corruption' campaign. At the rally, Senator Rivera spoke about his Home Care Savings and Reinvestment Act (S2332A), one of the Senator's top legislative priorities for this year, and that will remove the middlemen out of our home care system.

CITY AND STATE 2026 ALBANY POWER 100

This week, City and State released their Albany Power 100 and Senator Rivera was included at number #21. The article highlights his commitment to the New York Health Act to fundamentally transform the way healthcare is delivered in New York State.
