The "PPNA Bookbag and School Supply Giveaway at Bronx House" was a huge success, as over two hundred children received free bookbags and much of the school supplies they will need for the start of the school year. Councilwoman Shirley Aldebol and State Senator Gustavo Rivera. Representatives of Congressman Ritchie Torres and Assemblyman John Zaccaro were also on hand with several other vendors who also gave out school related items.
PPNA President Steven Glosser was very happy with the turnout and that the organization could do events like this to help the community. His next event will be a turkey giveaway for Thanksgiving, and then for Christmas a toy giveaway with the Pelham Parkway Vision Center on Lydig Avenue.

The New York Botanical Garden had a table that gave out various items related to the Garden.
