In honor of Pride Month, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander published his annual 2024 LGBTQIA+ Guide, a comprehensive directory of nearly 240 organizations and services designed to address the needs of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual individuals in the city. This guide serves as a reaffirmation of the Comptroller’s Office’s ongoing commitment to celebrating and supporting LGBTQIA+ communities across the city, providing access to essential services and inclusive spaces for all.
“Even though there’s still significant work ahead to build a world centered on joy and committed to the dignity of all New Yorkers, the extensive list of LGBTQIA+ civic and cultural resources featured in our guide inspire confidence that we will eventually achieve this vision,” NYC Comptroller Brad Lander said. “My office remains steadfast in its commitment to inclusivity and equality and as New York City Comptroller, I pledge to push back against regressive measures whenever they come to our city and will continue advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights across our city, state, and country.”
The third installment of the Comptroller’s now annual LGBTQIA+ Guide, this year’s includes resources for LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers that face unique challenges requiring urgent attention from the City. This Pride Month also comes at a time of heightened bigotry against the LGBTQIA+ people across the country and in New York City that is impacting the community’s sense of well-being and inclusion. According to one national survey 86% of transgender and nonbinary youth say recent debates around anti-trans bills have negatively impacted their mental health. Two-thirds of transgender students in NYC report feeling sad or hopeless.
“Every New Yorker deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, irrespective of whom they love or how they identify,” Comptroller Lander continued. “We hope you will find this edition of the LGBTQIA+ guide to be a useful resource.”

“The Comptroller’s LGBTQIA+ annual guide provides the needed affirmation and confirmation about our organization’s authenticity and credibility,” Antoine Craigwell Founder, President and CEO of DBGM, Inc., said. “It says to all who access it, that DBGM with its projects and programs have risen to and achieved a level of professionalism and respect to warrant being included in the Guide.”
“The LGBTQIA+ Guide is NYCs definitive resource for LGBTQIA+ related organizations, businesses, programs and services. Accessible online and in print, it’s an invaluable asset,” Carmen Neely, President and CEO of Harlem Pride, Inc., said.
