ASSEMBLYWOMAN WILL DISTRIBUTE SUPPLIES TO HUNDREDS OF SOUTH QUEENS STUDENTS TO FUEL THEIR SUCCESS THIS SCHOOL YEAR
Wednesday, September 4 at 6:00pm, Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar will host her annual “Back to School” backpack and school supply distribution at her office, located at 83-91 Woodhaven Boulevard in Woodhaven. At this beloved annual tradition, she will give away high quality backpacks replete with school supplies to hundreds of students in South Queens, equipping them for this school year.
The giveaway builds upon Assemblywoman Rajkumar’s 4 years of year-round events where she brings organizations and funding from around the country to her South Queens district. Her weekly food distributions during the pandemic were renowned. The Assemblywoman also hosts regular free mammogram screenings for all women in the district, free legal clinics, free vaccination events, free health clinics, and free rain barrel giveaways, among others.
Supporting Assemblywoman Rajkumar’s Back to School event this year are Mayor Eric Adams, Congressmembers Gregory Meeks and Grace Meng, Senator Joseph Addabbo, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Councilmembers Lynn Schulman and Joann Ariola, Queens Community Boards 9 and 10, Cityline-Ozone Park Civilian Patrol, the Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association, the Richmond Hill-South Ozone Park Lions Club, and Our Neighbors Civic Association of Ozone Park.
