Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 720 Elton Avenue in Melrose, The Bronx. Located between East 155th Street and East 156th Street, the lot is closest to the 3rd Avenue–149th Street subway station, served by the 2 and 5 trains. Sol Schwimmer of 3991 Saxon Avenue LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 80-foot-tall development will yield 36,525 square feet, with 30,908 square feet designated for residential space, 5,344 square feet for commercial space, and 272 square feet of community facility space. The building will have 35 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 883 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar.
Lester Katz of XPdite Group LLC is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed for the parking lot on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
