It was a packed room at the Morris Park Community Asociation for the September 49th Precinct Council meeting. Newly promoted Deputy Inspector Julieann Stapleton came right out and said crime is down again in the 49th Precinct. However that was for reported crime, as a former police commissioner once told me that much crime goes unreported.
In the monthly crime tips Crime Prevention Officer Mella spoke of a jewelery scam, businesses n eeded cameras, and other ways people are trying to scam you. The Treasurer's report said there was $1,683.60 in Precinct Council funds. There was a lively Gallery session, then report from elected official representatives and one by State Senator Gustavo Rivera who stayed the entire meeting.
