The 46th Annual GreenThumb Harvest Fair is next week!
Join GreenThumb and community gardeners in celebrating the start of fall with workshops, live entertainment, healthy cooking, and more! GreenThumb's 46th Annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, October 3rd is a FREE family event with activities for all ages to enjoy, rain or shine.

GreenThumb Fresh Chef Contest
Tompkins Ave. and Van Buren St. Brooklyn, NY 1121612:30 p.m.–3:00 p.m.Come cheer on community members who will show off their cooking skills at the GreenThumb Harvest Fair! The eight chefs competing this year took part in a preliminary cook-off by creating a home cooked dish and were selected based on this dish from a vote on Instagram and Facebook.
This contest challenges participants to replicate their most delicious and nutritious version of a surprise dish demonstrated by guest chef, Hisham "Ham" El-Waylly, a chef, recipe developer, and video creator based in New York City. After the demonstration, contestants will then have a limited time to prepare their interpretation of the dish, while Marlon Rice of Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation MC's the event and visitors cheer them on! The cook-off will conclude with a panel of judges, including Chef Ham, Chef Shorne of the restaurant Fat Fowl, and Gillian Graham, Chef / Partner at Hart's restaurant, who will crown the top three 2026 Fresh Chefs.

The winners of the 2026 GreenThumb Harvest Fair Competition will be announced and the winning photo submissions of veggies, herbs, fruit, and flowers that GreenThumb community gardeners and home gardeners grew will be displayed at Herbert Von King Park.
All community gardeners are encouraged to bring their harvest to the event and contribute to the community cornucopia table. We will have a special place to display them during the day.
