Dear Neighbor,
Thank you for joining us for another week in review.
Today is National Night Out Against Crime. National Night Out Against Crime is a powerful reminder of the strength and unity within our community. Tonight, as we gather to stand against crime and celebrate the spirit of collaboration, we reaffirm our commitment to creating safer neighborhoods for everyone. This event highlights the crucial partnership between residents, local law enforcement, and community organizations. By working together, we build trust, enhance safety, and foster a stronger, more connected community. Thank you to everyone who participates and contributes to making our streets safer and our neighborhoods more vibrant. My team and I look forward to seeing you tonight as we travel across the borough!
This week is also National Farmers Market Week and is a tribute to the hardworking farmers and local vendors who bring fresh, healthy produce to our communities. As we celebrate National Farmers Market Week, we are excited to invite everyone to our special pop-up event this Thursday at the Norwood Farm Stand (East Gun Hill Road & Dekalb Avenue) at 10 AM in partnership with Council Member Eric Dinowitz and Grow NYC. The pop-up event will be an opportunity to support our local agriculture, enjoy fresh goods, and connect with the people who make our local food system thrive. We will also make an announcement regarding health bucks and our efforts to combat hunger in the Bronx.
Lastly, we want to wish our Jamaican neighbors a Happy Independence Day! This day is a moment to honor Jamaica’s history and achievements and acknowledge the profound impact that Jamaican culture has on our diverse and dynamic community. Let us come together to celebrate this special day and the invaluable contributions of our Jamaican neighbors.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 718-590-3500 or email us at webmail@bronxbp.nyc.gov.

IN THE COMMUNITY
Our Summer Concert Series continued at the Fordham Night Market! Thank you to everyone who joined us!
We kicked off the Farmers Market season in the Bronx with GrowNYC at their Morris Heights ribbon cutting!
We’re excited to support local farmers and enjoy fresh, delicious produce all summer long.
Operation Padlock to Protect is in full effect! I joined the Governor, Mayor, NYC Sheriff, Police Commissioner, and my Colleagues to announce over 750+ illegal, unlicensed cannabis smoke shops have been closed in our City since May. I want to thank the Governor and State Legislature for adding new measures to help NYC close illegal cannabis operations. We received numerous complaints and calls to our office from residents and businesses who are fed up and all deserve better. We are thankful for this collaboration and swift action to close unlicensed shops that sell unregulated, untested cannabis products that harm our communities and threaten our quality of life and public health and safety. We will not accept this and will keep working to keep New Yorkers safe.
Our Veterans have sacrificed so much for us, and now it is time for us to give back to them. Last week, we hosted our Veterans Career Fair at Bronx Borough Hall. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
