This spring, the NYC Green Fund Grassroots grant program awarded $393,900 in grants to 58 community groups across our city. As part of this program, we've partnered with Con Edison to provide funds through the Green Fund's Urban Forest grants, which were awarded to seven groups - Tibbetts Brook Beautification Association in the Bronx; Owl's Head Park Volunteers and Rooney Triangle Fund Initiative in Brooklyn; 500 West 150th St Block Association, More Gardens Fund, and Proyecto de Embellecimiento 137th Street Beautification Project in Manhattan; and Jackson Heights Beautification Groups in Queens. Thanks to Con Edison and the Green Fund’s Urban Forest grants, these groups are now actively helping with our city’s street trees, cleaning the air and mitigating extreme heat when we need it the most.
