Mayor Adams Holds Media Availability Since he was Sick

Mayor Eric Adams held his first Media Availability in over two weeks since he did not feel well, and reporters asked the mayor what was wrong, how he feels, and even if it was connected to the recent ICE raids in the city. The mayor answered that he had gained weight, was not feeling the same, made doctor appointments, and took tests that came back good. Adams said underwent anesthesia last week for an undisclosed medical issue. He said he has to lose weight by going back to his original diet, and not eat the bad food he has since becoming mayor.

Mayor Adams had signs with information of what his administration had done such as taking 2,000 guns off the streets, moved 180,000 migrants through the system, highest job growth, lowering crime, and making New York City more affordable. At the end the mayor held up a newspaper with a headline "On A Roll".

Adams said he will head to Washington next month to testify before the House Oversight Committee on New York City’s status as a “sanctuary city” joining three fellow Democrats who lead Chicago, Denver and Boston — cities that limit local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration officials. They are set to appear March 5. He tried to downplay his meetings with President Donald Trump, by saying that he was begging for New Yorkers as he did in his recent trip to Albany to talk to Governor Kathy Hochul, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and Assembly Majority Leader Carl Heastie.
