Defendant Also Allegedly Texted Explicit Photos to Girl
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark today announced that a Bronx teacher has been indicted on Rape, Sexual Misconduct and other related charges for allegedly raping a13-yearold female student multiple times in her home over the course of five weeks.
District Attorney Clark said, “The defendant engaged in disturbing and predatory conduct, made worse by the fact that he is a schoolteacher entrusted with the care and safety of students. Exploitation of the young and vulnerable will not be tolerated.”
District Attorney Clark said the defendant, William Jones, 32, of 55th Street, Queens, was arraigned today by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Laurence Busching on four counts of seconddegree Rape, four counts of third-degree Rape, four counts of Sexual Misconduct, five counts of first-degree Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Defendant remains out on bail. He is due back in court on October 14, 2025.
According to the investigation, Jones, a seventh-grade math teacher at the American Dream Charter School on 141st Street in the Mott Haven section, allegedly raped the girl multiple times between April 28, 2025 and June 2, 2025. The 13-year-old victim was a student in one of his classes. The incidents took place at the victim’s home while her family was out. On the last occasion, her older sister found them together, getting dressed.
According to the investigation, the victim’s mother searched her daughter’s phone and allegedly found numerous explicit text messages including photos and videos of male genitals. The victim’s mother asked the school to confirm in the school database whose phone number it was. When she was told it was the teacher’s the mother reported it to the NYPD. The defendant resigned from his job allegedly after he became aware of the investigation.
District Attorney Clark thanked NYPD Police Officers Amanda Blatt and Tatiana Torres of the Bronx Special Victims Squad for their work in the investigation.
An indictment is an accusatory instrument and not proof of a defendant’s guilt.
