Build the Parks System We Need and Deserve

In our research, advocacy, and programs, New Yorkers for Parks is fighting for a better future for parks and all New Yorkers.  This year, we made a big impact:

Helped local advocates get Red Hook Pool repaired and opened before the end of swim season. Partnered with Councilmember Julie Won and Queensbridge Houses residents to win the return of Queensbridge Baby Park for public use. Pushed City Hall and the City Council to deliver $670 million for NYC Parks in the FY26 budget, the agency's largest budget ever as a dollar amount. This shows investment trending in the right direction and includes the restoration of 200 previously cut full time positions, plus 230 additional "second-shift" maintenance workers stationed at high-use parks throughout the city.

This is real progress — and with your help, we'll do more. This fall, NY4P introduced a new platform: Parks 2030. Developed with our partners in the Play Fair Coalition, Parks 2030 is a guide for the next Mayoral administration — a series of practical, achievable policy steps that will move our city closer to the goal of a clean, green, safe, and resilient parks system.  The first months of a new administration are a crucial opportunity to set the agenda for the next four years. Successful advocacy in the coming months will secure policy and funding commitments that will shape the future of our city. NY4P will be front and center, pushing new leadership in City Hall and the City Council to realize the vision of Parks 2030.  We can do this — but we need your help. Make a gift to NY4P today. Your support will power our advocacy in 2026 and help build the parks system New Yorkers need and deserve.  Make a Gift
