GIVING TUESDAY Dear Friends & Neighbors, On this global day of giving, we invite you to join the Riverdale Main Streets Alliance in supporting our mission to build a strong, vibrant, and united community through our expanding economic development and beautification initiatives. Over the past several years, our growth has been exponential—and nothing short of extraordinary. Some of our recent accomplishments: - This past May marked our largest Riverdale block party festival yet - We continued our multi-phase beautification project of the perimeter of Vinmont Veteran Park with the start of a new mural and pollinator garden - We donated enough money to help reinstall holiday lights on Riverdale and Mosholu Avenues that were originally halted due to a NYC budget deficit - We strengthened collaborations with local partners such as Wave Hill, Riverdale Country School, Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, Riverdale Neighborhood House, University of Mount Saint Vincent, RKA 141, and KRVC - Introduced new (and sold out) events such as decades themed parties, comedy night, and summer socials - We upgraded the public garden at Van Cortlandt Park and West 261st Street - We helped install new flags at Sheridan Triangle and at the local 9/11 Memorial Garden - We set up solar powered lights and holiday decorations at the Sheridan Triangle tree - We planted several new trees and maintained over 50 local tree pits and several "Welcome to Riverdale" signs - We spearheaded several local coat, clothing, and food drives - We sponsored several events and projects such as Sunset on the Hudson, Van Cortlandt Park Starlight Cinema, "For the Birds" mural, Riverdale Temple "Fall of Life" 5K Run, Riverdale Y 5K Run and Fun Day, and Riverdale Neighborhood House "Cocktails in the Garden" - We advocated for new tree guards and expansion of several tree pits - We organized a mass cleanup behind the Skyview Shopping Center (the first cleanup to occur in years) RMSA is here to preserve the beauty of our commercial corridors through street cleanings, tree pit and planter maintenance, and preservation of open spaces, while holding a growing number of events to promote local businesses and encourage investment. As a fully volunteer-ran 501(c)(3) non-profit, our efforts are funded entirely through our members and sponsors. In order to make 2026 an even better year, we need your continued support. Please click on the link below or scroll further down to find out how to donate or join today. Even simply reading our newsletters, volunteering at our events, or following us on social media is so appreciated. All we do, depends on you! With gratitude, The Board of the Riverdale Main Streets Alliance
